We will offer several alternative sessions to complement our 60 minute sessions and 75 minute workshops:
Bursts Ten minutes in length, burst sessions are energizing sessions sharing powerful teaching strategies, inspirational stories, favorite lessons, and more.
Preservice-to-Leaders Panel Discussion This panel will consist of 4 stages of educators from preservice, early career, experienced, and administration. The discussion will include how new teachers view the profession, supports they feel they need to be successful teachers, what district leaders look for when hiring math teachers, and how district leaders think about professional development opportunities for their math teachers. In the process, we hope to facilitate an uncommon and illuminating discussion around the process of developing today's new teachers into tomorrow's leaders.
TOSA Talk Panel Discussion A panel of local math coaches and TOSAs will discuss solutions to common challenges confronting many districts, departments, and teachers. Then the discussion will open to all in attendance to share success stories, ask questions of other TOSAs, and gain perspective on what TOSAs in other districts are working on. In this session, the adage "No teacher is an island" becomes "No TOSA is an island either".
